Gilchesters Organic Rye Grain has a low gluten content but is high in fibre, vitamin E and potassium to name a few! The grains are of bread making quality, suitable for home milling. Rye kernels have a heavy, slightly sweet and almost fruity flavour. They are excellent added to soups and stews, especially those made with ingredients such as venison, beetroot, smoked meat or red cabbage. Rye grains also make a great salad base and team well with dill, plain or smoked salmon, red berries, yogurt and buttermilk.
STORAGE: Please store all grains and flour cool, away from heat and sunlight. Once opened keep the bags tightly folded up.
NB Our grain goes through a rigorous cleaning process, however we cannot guarantee that there will not be tiny traces of other seeds which are natural in the organic farming process.
