Our Unbleached White is milled from the Gilchesters Farm’s heritage grains and the finest UK grown organic grains, and is ideal for artisan breads made with sourdough or yeast. It rises well and produces when baked a lovely creamy colour with a light crust. We pack our best-seller in 1.5 and 3 kg bags and you can find many recipes on our website.
Our tip: try our unbleached White for your best Sunday Yorkshire Puddings. The batter rises extremely well! Make sure they don’t burn when they touch the top of your oven! Find the instructions on the recipe page.

I bought this flour for the first time the other week and used it to make my (3 day) sourdough, which I have been baking using Doves Organic White Flour since 2015. I must say that the Gilchesters flour is by far superior, and today I baked my first sourdough using it. The flavour is far deeper and the taste is excellent. Converted! 5 stars!

I made my first sourdough this Tuesday and I haven’t stopped since, 1 loaf a day! I usually buy my sourdough from local bakeries around London but never have I tasted a loaf with such a beautifully complex flavour as I managed to make with this flour. It’s actually insane. This was definitely worth the wait and the waking up at 9am to get my order in. I will definitely be ordering more as soon as this is available.

My sister bought me a gift box for Christmas. I have made several loaves in my bread machine & the Organic Unbleached Strong White is fantastic. Best flour I’ve ever used. The bread has a good texture & tastes delicious. When toasted, it’s far too tasty to cover it with any preserves.

Gilchesters Strong organic unbleached white flour is quite simply the best white flour I have ever used, and that by some distance. There is clear daylight between Gilchesters and any other white flour I’ve used, and I’ve tried flour from most of the independent millers. I’d never realised before just what a difference bleaching makes to the look of the flour and the resultant bread. The taste and texture is superior to any other white flour I’ve used, and is my new benchmark.
